Emergence

Speaker Rebecca Allen has been creating and exhibiting a series of interactive art installations that explore concepts of human presence, artificial life and behavior. One interacts through innovative sensory interfaces while immersed in a projected three-dimensional virtual environment. This work utilizes a PC-based software system called Emergence developed by Allen's research team with a grant from Intel Corporation. She is now experimenting with the integration of virtual and physical environments to create a unique experience of simultaneous realities.
